+HSA designed an elevated concessions building with restrooms for the St. Joe State Park. We located the building on the site in a north-south orientation to maximize the sunrise and sunset views for the visitors.  Our design consideres roof slope, orientation, and views as part of the park visitor's experience in addition to breezes, proximity to water, and the utilization of flags as beach messaging. 

 

The program called for simple, low-maintenance materials familiar to the agency and staff. Concessions includes a small-scale kitchen and dining area in addition to outdoor tables and seating. All elements of the facility are ADA accessible. +HSA has provided two different options for the agency to consider.
